1. Hosanna - Double D Productions - Procunier Hall, http://mytickets.palacetheatre.ca/eventperformances.asp?evt=40 November 6th - 13th
Directed by Michel Tremblay and starring Donald D'Haene and Dave Semple, this love story about a relationship between a two aging men is receiving fantastic reviews. Unfortunately due to a crazy month prepping plays, set designing, costume designing and script editing, I have not yet been able to see it yet but cannot wait to catch one of the 3 shows left - Nov 13th, 14th and 15th
2. A Few Good Men - By The Book Theatre - McManus Studio - http://www.grandtheatre.com/index.php/mcmanus-theatre/rental-companies/a-few-good-men-by-aaron-sorkin/ November 25th - December 6th
Directed by Mark Killeen and starring Andre Cormier as Kaffee, Steph Christiaens as Galloway and featuring our very own Alex Bowman as Howard, this play is a timeless drama. If the story of A Few Good Men doesn't interest you, then you probably can't handle the truth. Definitely on my "to see" list!
3. The Normal Heart - London Community Players Presents - November 20th - December 1st
http://mytickets.palacetheatre.ca/eventperformances.asp?evt=44
Directed by John MacKenzie, this drama follows AIDS activist Ned Weeks during the rise of the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York during 1981-1984. I have not seen the play previously but have seen Larry Kramer (playwright on whom the character of Weeks is purportedly based) interviewed. He is so passionate about the subject and so proud of the movement and his involvement in forcing society to deal with the crises and not address it with such apathy. I'm really interested in seeing this story brought to the stage.
Then, it's back to work for us! First read through is December 12th... Can't wait!
